Our School Procedures

Bell Schedule

Please send your child to school on time (8:00 a.m). When your child arrives at school late, he /she misses out on important instruction, and could fall behind. If it is necessary for your child to be late or absent due to illness, please write a note to the teacher. Any unexcused absence must be marked unlawful in the teacher's roll book.

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
     School begins at 8:00 a.m., each day. The school doors will open promptly at 7:45 a.m., and students will be allowed to enter the building using the doors near the Sammy Center for breakfast in their classroom.  
   Please do not send your child to school before 7:45 a.m. He/she will not be allowed inside, and it is unsafe for students to be unsupervised.  If you leave for work early, please make arrangements with a sitter or friend to care for your child until school opens.


TRANSPORTATION
Corner to Corner Bus
     This service will be provided by the school district.

 

VISITORS
     Visitors are always welcome in our school, provided they follow proper COVID-19 procedures. However, it is the law that every parent and visitor must sign in at the MAIN OFFICE with your STATE ISSUED ID and get a pass before going to any area in the building.  This rule is for the safety of our students, as well as for the teachers and other staff.  If you plan to speak with your child's teacher please be sure to make an appointment prior to your arrival for before or after school.

HALL PASSES
     Students are not permitted in the hallways or any area of the building without a pass during class time unless accompanied by a teacher. If a student is traveling through the hallways, he/she must request a pass from the teacher. All students should travel in pairs or with the class while going from one area to another.

DISMISSAL

  1. Parents are asked to allow the children to be properly dismissed in the afternoon.  PLEASE WAIT FOR YOUR CHILD (REN) TO BE ESCORTED TO THE PLAYGROUND BY THE TEACHER.

  2. All students Pre-K-5th are dismissed from the playground at 2:40 p.m.

  3. Students that are bus riders are dismissed out of the MAIN ENTRY DOORS

  4. Children are not permitted to reenter the building.

  5. Older children must meet their brothers and sisters outside the building.  They may not pick up children at classrooms.

IN MATTERS OF EXCESSIVE NEGLIGENCE, THE PROPER AUTHORITY WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN STUDENTS ARE LEFT AT SCHOOL FOR MORE THAN 20 MINUTES,  AT THE END OF THE DAY.  

EARLY DISMISSAL OF CHILDREN

Early dismissals will not be honored after 2:00 p.m. (please provide doctor, dental or other appointment information to the office as documentation for an early dismissal. 

 

If parents have to take a child out of school before 2:25 p.m., they should write a note to explain why and when.  The child should give the note to the teacher upon arrival.  The teacher will then allow the child to take the note to the office.  At that time, the office will record the information.  The student MUST be picked up by the parent or authorized adult, in the office, at the specified time.

  1. The person picking up the children must be listed on the student’s emergency form.

  2. The person must have proper identification.  NO EXCEPTIONS

  3. The person must be 18 years of age or older.  School age children will not be allowed to pick up other siblings during regular instructional hours.
